The most advanced touch screen in the world
Due to its versatility and features DL®Dixpley is the most advanced interactive touchscreen in the world, at least for us, because it incorporates all the features of a compact device ready for use as an interactive table for presentations, live or simply as a hobby with its many recreational options. Due to its nature of being a device created for our customers and assembled mainly by a traditional process gives endless adaptable to user needs configurations.
The Dixpley that Digital Luthier manufactures has an excellent look due to the colour combination between the white methacrylate and extruded polished aluminium, materials which result in beautifully profiled angles married to smooth external surfaces. Due to the dimensions of the Dixpley in conjunction with its inherent characteristics, we can feel the sensation of being in front of a huge tablet or something similar, as it combines the audiovisual technology and touch screen interaction but in a large-scale and professional way.
Ideal for presentations
When the Dixpley is completely upright or lighty tilted is is in presentation mode. This mode is ideal for all types of presentations. Also it can interact with videogames, standing up and without touching the Dixpley. It is also possible to adapt an optional bracket for mounting on the wall which allows the Dixpley to be rotated 180 degrees left to right on a vertical axis.
The live mode can be adapted to many different positions but the most common for artists and professionals is standing and tilted toward the crowd. The bracket has been designed to be configurable, keeping in mind the user´s physiognomy. Equally, the bracket supports can be vertically adjusted to ensure a comfortable working height, reducing the risk of back injuries.
The bracket allows the Dixpley to be positioned horizontally, with the height set to the user's preference. Due to the Dixpley's capacity to recognize pucks and other objects, it is ideal for all kinds of collaborative videogames played by several participants.
All of the described positions, presentation, live or table mode are suitable for being used as a hobby or as a professional applications. It works with the most popular operating systems incluiding Windows, MacOs and Linux Ubuntu, and mobile & tablet applications.
The Dixpley screen incorporates several types of sensors, including a movement sensing camera especially designed for biomechanical applications, allowing additional control applications for hardware and software. It is also possible to connect a Full HD camera with body recognition, enabling the operation of the Dixpley without having to touch the screen at all.
Truly alive hardware
The lighting system incorprated in the Dixpley is programmed to illuminate and change as the device is operated, giving the sensation that the hardware is alive and responding to the inputs of the user. Also our engineering team can configure your own sofware applications as requested.
Connect whatever you want
The main characateristic of the Dixpley is that you can choose the internal components from our catalogue. Our product catalogue has been shaped to include some of the best brands on the market, giving a wide choice of connections and audio-video processing components. What's more, you can choose the specification of the computer, including memory, processing power and storage space. Additionally you can include other components like presence and movement detectors, MIDI connections, videocontrol, free wireless control systems, and so on ... All connectors installed on the Dixpley are industry standard, permitting the fastest and most effective connection available.
In addition to the internal configuration of the Dixpley, you can choose other components like push buttons, faders and knobs for total control of the software. We can manufacture bespoke components to match the size of the user's fingers and hands, and depending on the final use of the Dixpley. The same flexibility can be applied to our software design process, adapting to different Digital Audio Workstations and allowing to map the controls via MIDI, OSC o ASCII. Equally there exists the possibility to operate the hardware of external equipment such as video systems, synthesizers, beat boxes, or any other device that the USB or DIN5 connections permits.
The Dixpley support consists of a light and robust system of embedded square section tubes easily detachable in 2 parts for transportation. It has a maximum elongated height of 180cm and a floor space corresponding to a 46 inch Dixpley size. The support base has lockable wheels, allowing the unit to be manouvered into position and preventing accidental disconnections. In the majority of cases we only need to connect the power supply and main outputs. The material used is the latest generation of hardened aluminium (Duralumin) which gives a flexible and lightweight system.
Due to the technical characteristics and the possibility to detach various modules, the Dixpley and its support can be easily prepared for secure transportation. It incorporates a trasport case specially designed to guarantee the safety of the equipment, and protect it from possible shocks and impacts during transportation.
The construction of this equipment is a predominantly hand-made process, with all components revised and adjusted with the necessary dedication and love. This ensures that each and every one of the components has been tested during assembly, and gives an exclusiveness as no two Dixpleys are exactly alike.
